WHY LIGHT?

'Maybe we who are walking towards the light are always walking against the light in the eyes of others.'
History is often invisible with time passing. In this project, the concept was to use lighting as a clue and lead the visitors explore The Pier-2 Art Center in Kaoshiung. Through actual visiting, the visitors built the connection between the area and could experience the changes. We wanted to use the most primitive existence of light to narrate the story of the area, lighting up the park at night, and discussing the roles of light over the past two hundred years.
This project invited the illustrator, Lulu, who used characters as the main visual characters. One faced the past and the other to the future, watching how the roles of light changed from the past to the present.
